Change of Pace...

Having been laid up...well, if one can call still going to work while sick laid up...and not feeling well the past two days, not much work has been done in the way of miniatures.  With not a lot of energy to expend at the moment, and not wanting to watch "Wheel of Fortune" (again)...I thought I'd share some of my "fun" songs from the Internet, as well as some serious 'ballads" that I like...

(Most people do not know that it was actually airplanes that caused the demise of the Bismark - combined with large turrets.  The guns on the Bismark were so large, that no other battleship could get into range without being sunk - the size of the guns turned out to also be its downfall.  There were not fast enough to stay with the planes that came in ahead of the ships, and the British pilots had free reign on bombing the Bismark.  The Bismark guns were great at long range, but found to be useless at short range.)

Every American needs to visit Arlington.  I was honored to have the opportunity to visit it, and, it can't be explained.  I looked for Audie Murphy's tombstone, and when I found it, it was just like the rest, and in no special spot...and it puzzled me for a minute because I expected different...and then I awoke to the realization that they were all heroes, and death is the great equalizer. The horses leading the funereal processions, taps being played, and the 21 gun salute seemed endless...and I was only there for three hours.
